Leadership, mentoring, coaching and literacy intervention.

Melissa has over 25 years working with children in a wide range of environments and settings.

She has had 16 years of experience working in education as a primary school teacher. She holds a Bachelor of Education (P-12).  Melissa is well versed in her field and has been specialising in literacy in the early years for the past 11 years. While working full time she continued with her passion and her quest for continuous improvement in teaching and learning and completed a Master of Literacy (Honours) at the University of Melbourne.  She is a trained Reading Recovery teacher and has had a wide range of experience in implementing literacy programs and intervention programs across government and Catholic primary schools.

For the past 11 years she has held significant positions in leadership, mentoring, coaching and literacy intervention. As a result of all of these experiences she has identified key learning areas that are significant and vital to building literacy readiness in the early years and programs to help build educators’ capacity to develop and promote the fundamentals when building literacy readiness in children.  These are based on the importance of communication and language development.

Melissa is a trained Reading Recovery teacher and is currently designing Literacy Intervention programs in Primary Schools.

She holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessing and in 2017, she became a published author with the Early Childhood Association Every Child Magazine.
